+1 Yeah, that's the exact reason—that CPU just isn't supported, so the installer won't proceed.

This. I had the same problem. For me, it was a BIOS setting—I had to disable a legacy compatibility mode to get the upgrade to finally stick.

Agreed. This happened to me. The rollback corrupted some drivers. I had to use the Media Creation Tool for a clean install to finally fix it. Good luck!
