Had the same problem. I had this issue last month. That error often pops up if a driver is incompatible. From what I've seen, the built-in backup can be hit or miss—I ended up manually copying my important files to an external drive and a cloud service just to be safe. Hope that helps.

Another option is to check if there's a group policy setting for it, but that's usually for business versions of Windows. Let me know if that works.

Same here. This happened to me with an older i5. I ended up just sticking with Windows 10 for that machine. Let me know if that works.
