I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the Windows Update pag?

Post by zcd409 »

I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the Windows Update page just says “This PC doesn’t currently meet Windows 11 system requirements.” The PC Health Check app says I need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, but my BIOS seems to have those options greyed out. Has anyone else hit this wall? I’m not sure if I need a whole new motherboard or if there’s a workaround. Any advice is appreciated.

+1 Yeah, setting a BIOS password first to unlock those settings is a common fix—did that work for you? Let me know if that works.

Agreed. Yeah, that password step is key. Also, double-check if there's a separate "firmware TPM" setting you need to switch from discrete to firmware.

Had the same problem. I had this issue with an older laptop. From what I have seen, those options are often greyed out until you set a supervisor password in the BIOS first. Once I did that, I could enable TPM and Secure Boot.

Agreed. Yeah, that password trick worked for me too—after setting it, I could finally enable TPM and Secure Boot. Good luck!

Same here. If you still can't change them after setting a BIOS password, it's worth double-checking if there's a separate "Platform Trust Technology" or PTT setting for Intel systems.

This. I had the same problem. On my motherboard, I actually had to disable a "CSM" or legacy support setting first before the TPM and Secure Boot options even became available to turn on.

Agreed. You could also check if there's a BIOS update from your motherboard manufacturer, as that sometimes unlocks those settings.

This solution worked on my system too. Thanks!

You could also try updating your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI firmware from the manufacturer's website, as that often enables those security features.
