I had the same problem with an older processor. The BIOS update the other user mentioned was the only thing that finally got it to work for me.

You could also try using the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool to do a clean install instead of the upgrade path. Let me know if that works.

Oh, right, you mentioned the CPU—did the PC Health Check app give you a specific reason why the i3-6100 isn't supported?

+1 I had the same problem. My older i5 got flagged, and it was super frustrating because the PC ran fine otherwise.

+1 Yeah, that CPU check is a real pain. If you're feeling adventurous, you can look up bypassing the TPM and CPU checks with a registry edit during setup.
