I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the Windows Update pag?

Post by yhf3d7L »

I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the Windows Update page just says “This PC doesn’t currently meet Windows 11 system requirements.” The PC Health Check app says I need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, but my BIOS seems to have those options greyed out. Has anyone else hit this wall? I’m not sure if I need a whole new motherboard or if there’s a workaround. Any advice is appreciated.

This happened to me on an older laptop. I had to update the BIOS from the manufacturer's website before the TPM option became available. Hope that helps.

You'll probably need to enable TPM and Secure Boot in your BIOS first, but if they're greyed out, your motherboard might not support them. Check your PC or motherboard manufacturer's support site to see if there's a BIOS update that unlocks those features.

Agreed. This happened to me with an older laptop. I had to update the BIOS from the manufacturer's website before those settings became available.

This. I had the same problem. For me, the BIOS update didn't unlock it, and I ended up needing to clear the TPM in the security settings first.

Yeah, Also, double-check if there's a separate "Platform Trust Technology" or PTT setting in the BIOS, as that can be Intel's version of TPM.

Yeah, clearing the TPM did the trick for me too. A quick tip: sometimes you also need to set an administrator password in the BIOS to change those security settings.

This happened to me. I had to update my motherboard's BIOS to a newer version before those TPM and Secure Boot options even became available to enable.

Can confirm. Yep, exactly—once I updated the BIOS, those greyed-out settings unlocked and I could turn them on.

I had the same problem. I had to go into my BIOS and actually set an administrator password before it would let me change the TPM setting from greyed out. Let me know if that works.
