Agreed. Oh, and have you checked if Windows Search or a third-party antivirus is indexing the drive in the background? Let me know if that works.

Agreed. Yeah, that's a good call. Also, try disabling the Windows Superfetch service—it can sometimes cause this.

Can confirm. Yeah, and if that doesn't help, check for driver updates from WD's website—sometimes a fresh driver can calm things down.

You could also run a quick scan with Windows Defender, since background antivirus checks can sometimes cause that.

Can confirm. Another option is to check for firmware updates for your SSD through WD's dashboard tool, as outdated firmware can sometimes cause odd activity.
