Have you tried temporarily disabling any third-party antivirus or security software before running the upgrade?

So basically, That error code is often driver related. Try disconnecting any non-essential peripherals like extra monitors, printers, or USB devices and run the upgrade again.

Having a lot of trouble upgrading my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11?

Having a lot of trouble upgrading my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11. The upgrade assistant gets partway through and then fails every time. The last attempt gave me error code 0xC1900101. My system meets all the requirements, and I’ve run the Windows Update troubleshooter. Has anyone found a reliable fix for this? It’s getting pretty frustrating.

I had the same problem. For me, it was a specific driver that wasn't fully compatible, even though my hardware met the requirements.

Which driver was it, and how did you figure it out?

I had the same problem. For me, it was an old audio driver that Windows Update didn't flag, and I only found it by checking each one manually in Device Manager.

Did the troubleshooter find anything specific, or did it just say it fixed some stuff?

This. Yeah, that error's a real headache. One extra thing that sometimes helps is temporarily disconnecting any non-essential USB devices before starting the upgrade.

Thanks! I disconnected everything but now my computer says it can't find a drive to install Windows on.
