I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check to?

Post by nx115 »

I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check tool says my system doesn’t support Secure Boot. I’ve checked my BIOS (UEFI), and it seems to be enabled. I’m getting the error code “This PC must support Secure Boot” with no other details. Has anyone else hit this wall? I’m not sure what to check next without messing up my current Windows 10 install.

Quick tip: I had this issue too. Even with Secure Boot showing as enabled in the BIOS, mine was set to "Other OS" instead of "Windows UEFI" mode. Switching that fixed it for me.

Also, double-check that your disk is using a GPT partition style and not MBR.

Can confirm. You could also try clearing your TPM from within the BIOS settings, as that sometimes resolves Secure Boot verification issues.

Same here. Also, double-check if your disk partition style is GPT and not MBR, as that's a common hidden requirement.

Yeah, I had the same problem. For me, I had to go into the BIOS and actually disable Secure Boot, save and exit, then re-enable it to get the PC Health Check to finally recognize it.

+1 This happened to me too. I had to convert my disk to GPT partition style, not just enable Secure Boot. Hope that helps.

Glad I'm not alone. Same issue on my PC.

Same here. You could also try disabling Secure Boot, saving, and then re-enabling it again in your BIOS. Another option is to check if your disk partition style is GPT, not MBR, as that's also a requirement.

This. I had the same problem. For me, I had to clear the TPM in my BIOS before Secure Boot would actually engage properly.
