Ever since I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, my laptop has been running painfull?

Post by 32nptxpxejv »

Ever since I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, my laptop has been running painfully slow. Boot-up takes forever, and apps like Chrome and Word are laggy and unresponsive. I don't see any specific error codes, but the fans are constantly running high even when I'm not doing much. I've run the built-in troubleshooter, but it didn't help. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? My specs should be more than enough for Windows 11.

I ran into this a while back. Yeah, that's a common headache after an upgrade. I'd start by checking for driver updates, especially for your graphics and chipset, and then run a clean boot to see if a background app is causing the strain. Good luck!

I had the same problem. A clean install of Windows 11, instead of the upgrade, finally fixed it for me. Let me know if that works.

You could also try checking for driver updates, especially for your graphics and chipset, since outdated ones can cause that kind of lag after an upgrade.

Same here. You could also try checking for driver updates, especially for your graphics and chipset, since outdated ones can cause major slowdowns. Another option is to adjust your power plan settings to favor performance over battery saving.

I had the same problem. For me, doing a clean reinstall of Windows 11 instead of the upgrade finally fixed the lag.

Thanks for the tip! I did the clean boot and it helped, but now my sound isn't working at all. Any idea how to fix that?

This. I had the same problem. A clean reinstall of Windows 11, instead of the upgrade, finally made my laptop feel snappy again.
