And double-check that the TPM is enabled and set to version 2.0, not just turned on.

Yeah, and after you enable it in the BIOS, you might need to restart and run the PC Health Check tool again for it to fully recognize the change.

Agreed. I had the same problem. I had to go back into the BIOS and actually enable the TPM security device, not just turn on the setting.

Yeah, this happened to me too. Even after enabling it, I had to clear the TPM from within Windows security before the installer would finally recognize it.

Oh, and did you make sure the TPM is set to version 2.0 in the BIOS, not 1.2?

This. You could also try clearing the TPM from within Windows' security settings, then re-enabling it in the BIOS.

Agreed. Yeah, agreed. And sometimes just disabling the TPM in BIOS, saving, and then re-enabling it again can kick the installer into recognizing it.

Same here. You could also check if there's a pending BIOS update for your 7040, as Dell has released updates that improve TPM 2.0 compatibility for Windows 11.

This. Another option is to try using the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool to do a clean install instead of the upgrade path.

Same here. Just to be sure, are you enabling TPM 2.0 specifically in the BIOS, not just turning it on?
