I’m stuck trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11. The PC Health Check app says my system doesn’t meet the requirements, specifically mentioning “TPM 2.0.” I checked my BIOS, and it says I have TPM 1.2. Is there any way to enable 2.0, or is my hardware just too old? My motherboard is an ASUS Z170-A. I’d really appreciate any guidance.
I ran into this a while back. I had this issue with an older ASUS board. From what I've seen, the Z170-A usually has a firmware TPM that's locked at version 1.2, so you can't upgrade it to 2.0. You might be out of luck for an official upgrade, but there are workarounds if you're willing to dig into them.
Same here. You could also check if there's a BIOS update for your specific motherboard model, as that sometimes enables TPM 2.0. Another option is to look into a clean install using the Media Creation Tool, which sometimes bypasses stricter upgrade checks.
