Has anyone else hit a wall trying to upgrade? My Windows 10 PC meets the CPU and TPM requirements, but the PC Health Check app keeps saying I don't have enough RAM. I have 6GB installed, which I know is the bare minimum for Windows 11. Is that 6GB requirement a hard line, or is there any workaround? The upgrade just fails every time with an error about insufficient memory.
So basically, Hey there, that's a frustrating spot to be in. Unfortunately, the 6GB RAM requirement is a hard line for the upgrade, so there's no official workaround. If you're comfortable with it, adding a bit more RAM would be the surefire fix—feel free to ask if you need tips on checking compatibility for that.
Agreed. Also, make sure you don't have too many background apps running when you try the check, as that can sometimes eat into the available memory it sees. Let me know if that works.
This. Yeah, sometimes that works, but have you double-checked if your RAM is actually running in dual-channel mode? That can sometimes trip up the checker. Hope that helps.
Can confirm. Agreed. Also, try closing every possible background app before running the check again—it might be reading available RAM, not just total installed.
