Trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check app ke?

Post by xw696167256 »

Trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check app keeps failing me on the TPM check. It says "This PC must support TPM 2.0." I'm confused because my motherboard (an ASUS Z370) definitely has a TPM header. Do I need to buy a separate module, or is there a setting in the BIOS I've missed? The error code in the setup log is 0x80070490. Any help getting this sorted would be great!

Ah, the TPM check can be a real headache! Since your motherboard has the header, you likely just need to enable fTPM (firmware TPM) in your BIOS—it's often under a security or advanced settings tab. If that doesn't work, you might need a physical TPM module for that header. Let me know how it goes or if you need a hand finding the BIOS setting! Good luck!

I had the same problem. You almost always need to buy and install the physical TPM module for that header, and then enable it in the BIOS.

Same here. Yeah, and if you're still stuck, double-check that your BIOS is fully updated—sometimes that unlocks the option.

This. You could also check if your specific motherboard model has a built-in firmware TPM you can enable, which would save you buying a module.

Yeah, that's a common snag—have you actually enabled TPM in your BIOS settings yet?
