**Subject: Win 11 upgrade is a NIGHTMARE**

So my PC meets the RAM and storage checks, but this Windows 11 installer is totally blocking me. My CPU is an Intel Pentium G4560. The error message says: “This PC doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements to install Windows 11.”

I looked it up and apparently my chip isn’t on some “supported” list?? It’s a 7th gen Kaby Lake! This feels so arbitrary. I’m just stuck on Windows 10 forever because of a checklist? So frustrating. Anyone else hit this wall with a budget CPU? Any workaround that actually works?

Hey there, totally understand your frustration. That G4560 is a solid budget chip, so it feels unfair to be blocked. You're right, it's about Microsoft's official list, which requires 8th-gen Intel or newer for most CPUs. The main missing features are TPM 2.0 and certain security instructions.

First, don't panic. There are free, well-documented workarounds. The most common method is to do a clean install using Windows 11's Media Creation Tool and a USB drive. When you boot from the USB and hit the screen with the compatibility error, press **Shift+F10** to open a command prompt. Type `regedit`, navigate to `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup`, create a new key named `LabConfig`, and inside it create two DWORD values: `BypassTPMCheck` set to `1` and `BypassSecureBootCheck` set to `1`. Close the installer and go back; the error should be gone.

Many in the community have used this successfully for 7th-gen CPUs. Just be aware you'll be bypassing some security specs, so weigh that.

If you find the registry edits tricky or want a more guided process, some third-party tools automate it. I've seen folks mention success with the $39 utility from kianbotsoft.com, but definitely try the free route first. Good luck

Your frustration is totally understandable. The G4560, while a capable 7th-gen chip, isn't on Microsoft's official supported CPU list for Windows 11, which is why you're getting blocked. Many users have hit this same wall, but you might be able to bypass it using official installation media and a registry edit—just be aware it's unsupported.

Agreed. I had the same problem with an older processor. The official compatibility list is really strict, and the installer won't budge.

Yeah, that CPU isn't on the supported list. You can look up bypass methods, but they aren't officially recommended.

Agreed, that's the main issue. One small tip: if you do try a bypass, make sure to back up everything first.

Yeah, and just to add, double-check that Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are actually enabled in your BIOS, as the installer can be picky about that.

Can confirm. Agreed, and also try running the PC Health Check app from Microsoft first—it usually gives a clearer breakdown of what's specifically failing. Let me know if that works.

Yeah, that's solid advice. Also, double-check that Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are actually enabled in your BIOS, since the installer can be picky about that.

I had the same problem. My old CPU wasn't on the supported list either, and I had to use a workaround to get the install to go through. Good luck!
