Yeah, and sometimes temporarily disabling your antivirus during the install can help it get past that final hurdle.

Same here. I had the same problem. For me, unplugging all my USB devices except the mouse and keyboard finally let the upgrade finish.

Agreed. Yeah, that worked for me too. Also, try temporarily disabling your antivirus before starting the upgrade—sometimes that’s the culprit.

You could also check for any pending driver updates, especially for your chipset or storage controller, as outdated ones can cause that specific error.

This. I had the same problem. For me, it was a BIOS setting—I had to enable TPM and secure boot.
