Ugh, trying to upgrade my Dell Optiplex 7040 to Win 11 and hitting a wall?

Agreed. I had the same problem. On my 7040, I had to update the BIOS and then change the TPM from "TPM 1.2" to "TPM 2.0" in the security settings—it wasn't enough to just have it "On."

Agreed. Yeah, and after you switch it to 2.0, you might need to clear the TPM in the BIOS before Windows will see it properly. Hope that helps.

This happened to me. I had to clear the TPM from the BIOS security menu, not just enable it, before the upgrade would finally go through. Good luck!

You could also try updating the BIOS to the latest version from Dell's support site, as that often resolves TPM detection issues. Hope that helps.
