My new Zenbook crashes every single time I start it up. It runs for about ten seconds, then the screen goes completely blue. The error message says something about an "uncorrectable hardware error" but the specific code changes sometimes. It's a model UM5302LA with a Ryzen 7 processor, running Windows 11. I can't get past this blue screen to do anything. What's causing this constant failure right after boot?

This depends on a couple things. I had this issue with a brand new laptop once. From what I have seen, an "uncorrectable hardware error" on a fresh machine often points to faulty RAM or a problem with the SSD. Since you can't get into Windows, your main tool is the BIOS/UEFI settings. Restart and repeatedly press **F2** (or sometimes **Delete**) as soon as the ASUS logo appears. Once in the BIOS:
1. Look for a "Load Defaults" or "Restore Defaults" option, save and exit. This can fix unstable settings.
2. While in BIOS, see if it runs stable without crashing. If it *still* crashes in BIOS, it strongly suggests a **hardware fault** (likely RAM or SSD on a new machine). You should contact ASUS support or your retailer for a warranty repair/replacement immediately.
If it's stable in BIOS, the issue might be Windows or a driver. From the BIOS, try to access the **Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)**. You can usually get there by interrupting the startup process 3 times by holding the power button as it crashes. In WinRE, go to **Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair**.

Agreed. You could also try a clean boot to see if a background service is causing it. Another option is checking for a BIOS/UEFI update from ASUS support.

Same here. Yeah, and if you're comfortable opening it up, a quick check to make sure the RAM is seated properly can sometimes fix those weird hardware errors.
