Trying to upgrade to Windows 11 but I’m stuck on the TPM check?

Trying to upgrade to Windows 11 but I’m stuck on the TPM check. The PC Health Check app says “This PC must support TPM 2.0” but my computer is only a few years old. I’ve gone into the BIOS and found a TPM setting, which is enabled. Am I missing something? Do I need to clear the TPM or something else? Any help getting past this error would be great.

Not 100% sure, but First, double-check that the TPM is set to version 2.0 in your BIOS, not just enabled—sometimes there's a separate selection. Also, make sure Secure Boot is enabled, as Windows 11 requires both.

This happened to me. I had to enable both the TPM and Secure Boot in my BIOS before it finally passed the check. Let me know if that works.

Can confirm. Also, try running the Microsoft TPM Management Console to see if it's actually detected and ready.

Can confirm. Yeah, sometimes it's also hidden under a security or AMD fTPM/Intel PTT setting in the BIOS, have you looked there?

This. I had the same problem. For me, the BIOS had TPM enabled, but the firmware version was set to "discrete" instead of "firmware," and switching it finally passed the check. Good luck!

Same here. You could also try clearing the TPM from within Windows security settings, as that sometimes resets it properly for the check.

Thanks! I found the TPM 2.0 setting and turned on Secure Boot, but now my computer won't boot from my main drive.
