Trying to upgrade to Windows 11 but the PC Health Check app keeps failing me on TPM. It says "This PC must support TPM 2.0." I'm on Windows 10 now, and my motherboard is an ASUS Z370-A. I went into the BIOS and found a TPM setting, enabled it, but I'm still getting the error. Is there a specific version I need, or could it be a firmware issue? Really confused about what step I'm missing.

Same here. You could also try clearing the TPM from within Windows 10's security settings, as a stale configuration can sometimes cause this. Another option is to check for a BIOS update from ASUS, as they often add or improve TPM support for older boards.

Had the same problem. First, double-check that the TPM setting you enabled is specifically for TPM 2.0, not 1.2—some BIOS have both. Also, ensure you’ve saved the BIOS changes and fully restarted. If it’s already set to 2.0, you might need to update your motherboard BIOS to the latest version from ASUS’s support site, as older firmware sometimes has buggy TPM support.

After that, try clearing the TPM in Windows Security under "Device security" to see if it gets recognized properly.

+1 Yeah, and also double-check that your BIOS is fully updated, as older versions sometimes don't enable TPM correctly.

+1 Agreed. Also, make sure you're selecting the right TPM type in the BIOS—it might be listed as "Intel PTT" on that board.

Agreed. I had the same problem on a similar board. After enabling Intel PTT, I actually had to clear the TPM in the security settings menu for it to be detected properly.

Following these steps fixed my issue as well.

Same here. You could also check if there's a separate "PTT" setting in your BIOS, as that's Intel's firmware-based TPM on that board. Another option is to make sure you've saved the BIOS changes and fully shut down, not just restarted, for it to take effect. Hope that helps.
