Has anyone else hit a wall trying to upgrade to Windows 11 because of Secure Boo?

Has anyone else hit a wall trying to upgrade to Windows 11 because of Secure Boot? My PC meets all the other requirements, but the PC Health Check app says it's not enabled. I went into the BIOS (UEFI) and it *is* enabled, but I'm still getting the error. I’ve also seen a vague "This PC can't run Windows 11" message with no details. Is there a specific setting I might be missing, like a TPM or legacy mode issue? Any help is appreciated.

Quick tip: Oh, that's super frustrating when the BIOS says one thing and the checker says another! A common hiccup is having the system drive formatted under an old MBR partition style instead of the required GPT. I'd be happy to walk you through checking that if you'd like.

Yeah, clearing the TPM is a solid suggestion. A quick tip: after you enable Secure Boot in the BIOS, you often need to also set your OS to "Windows UEFI Mode" for it to stick.

You could also try clearing the TPM from your security settings in Windows, as that sometimes resolves the mismatch. Another option is to use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool for the upgrade, which can bypass some of these checks.

This solution worked on my system too. Thanks!

Yeah, I had the same problem. It turned out I needed to enable a separate "Platform Trust Technology" or PTT setting in my BIOS, not just Secure Boot.

Same here. This happened to me too. I had to clear the TPM in my BIOS before the check would finally pass.

Yeah, clearing the TPM is a good shout. Did you also check if your disk partition style is GPT and not MBR? Let me know if that works.

Also, after enabling Secure Boot, did you save and exit the BIOS properly? Sometimes it doesn't stick if you just back out.

Thanks! I checked and my drive is MBR. How do I change it to GPT without losing everything?
