Yeah, that's solid advice. Also, try temporarily disabling any third-party antivirus software before the upgrade, as that can sometimes block it.

Has anyone else had the upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 fail repeatedly? The insta?

Has anyone else had the upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 fail repeatedly? The installer gets to about 85%, then I get a blue screen with the error code **0xc1900101**. After it rolls back, my current Windows 10 install feels sluggish. I’ve run the Update Troubleshooter and checked for driver updates, but no luck. What recovery options do I have to either fix the upgrade or get my Windows 10 running smoothly again if I give up?

Quick tip: That error usually points to a driver or hardware conflict. First, try disconnecting any non-essential peripherals (like printers or external drives) and run the installer again. If it still fails, you might need to do a clean install of Windows 11 using the Media Creation Tool, but back up your files first. To get your Windows 10 snappy again, run "sfc /scannow" in an admin Command Prompt to check for system file corruption. Hope that helps.

+1 You could also try temporarily disabling your antivirus and any third-party security software before running the upgrade again.

Yeah, and maybe check if you have any non-essential USB devices unplugged during the install, too. Let me know if that works.

Yeah, Also, have you checked if your BIOS is up to date? That's a common fix for that specific error.

Yeah, Agreed, an outdated BIOS can definitely block it. One extra thing—try temporarily disconnecting any non-essential USB devices before starting the upgrade, as peripherals sometimes interfere.

I had the same problem. For me, it was a conflict with an old antivirus program; uninstalling it before the upgrade finally let it complete.
