I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check app says my system doesn’t meet the requirements because Secure Boot isn’t enabled. I went into my BIOS (it’s an older ASUS motherboard) and couldn’t find a clear option for it. Has anyone else run into this? Do I need to switch from Legacy/CSM to UEFI mode first? Any step-by-step help would be amazing.

I ran into this a while back. Yes, you likely need to switch from Legacy to UEFI mode first. Restart into BIOS again and look for a setting called "Boot Mode" or "CSM" (Compatibility Support Module). Disable CSM to enable full UEFI mode, which should then make the Secure Boot option appear. After saving changes, Secure Boot can usually be enabled under a "Security" or "Boot" tab.

I had the same problem. On my ASUS board, I had to disable the CSM setting completely before the Secure Boot option even became visible.

Yeah, and after you disable CSM, you might need to save and reboot back into the BIOS for the Secure Boot menu to actually appear.

Yeah, This. Also, sometimes it's listed under the 'Boot' or 'Security' tab instead, so give those a look.

And if you're still stuck, what's your exact motherboard model? That can help narrow down the specific menu.

You could also try looking for a setting called "Windows 8/10 Features" or something similar in the BIOS, as that menu sometimes hides the Secure Boot option on older boards.

+1 If you still can't find it, what's the exact model of your ASUS motherboard? Hope that helps.
