Has anyone else hit a wall trying to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11? My PC meets all the requirements, but the installer keeps failing. I keep getting error code 0xC1900101, and it rolls back every time. It gets to about 85% installed, then just stops. I’ve run the update troubleshooter with no luck. Any ideas on what to try next?

Did you try temporarily disconnecting any non-essential USB devices, like external drives or printers, before starting the upgrade?

Same here. Agreed, that driver issue is super common. Also, try temporarily disconnecting any non-essential USB devices before starting the upgrade.

From what I've seen, I had this issue on a couple of workstations. From what I have seen, that specific error often comes from a driver conflict. I'd try disconnecting any non-essential peripherals, like printers or external drives, and then run the upgrade again.

Yeah, I had the same problem. For me, it was a stubborn audio driver that I had to completely uninstall before the upgrade would finally go through.

This. I had the same problem. For me, it was a stubborn audio driver that finally went through after a clean boot. Good luck!

Yeah, that 0xC1900101 is often driver-related; have you tried updating your graphics and chipset drivers before the upgrade?

Same here. I had the same problem. For me, it was an old external USB hub causing the rollback—unplugging everything non-essential finally let it finish.

Also, have you double-checked that your BIOS has Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 actually enabled, not just supported?
