Had the same problem. Yeah, that's a common blocker. The 8GB RAM requirement is a hard stop for the official upgrade path, so workarounds are tricky. That error code often ties back to the system not meeting those core requirements. You could look into a clean install using an ISO, but that bypasses checks and isn't officially supported, so it's risky. Let me know if that works.

Has anyone else hit a wall trying to upgrade to Windows 11? My PC runs Windows 1?

Has anyone else hit a wall trying to upgrade to Windows 11? My PC runs Windows 10 fine, but the PC Health Check app says I don't meet the RAM requirement. I have 6GB installed, and it's saying I need 8GB minimum. Is this a hard stop, or is there any workaround? I keep getting error code 0x8007007E when the installer runs.

+1 You could also try a clean install from a bootable USB, which sometimes bypasses stricter upgrade checks. Another option is adding more RAM if your motherboard has an open slot, since 8GB is a firm requirement.

You could also try a clean install using the Media Creation Tool, as it sometimes bypasses stricter upgrade checks. Another option is upgrading your RAM to 8GB, which is pretty affordable and guarantees compatibility.

You could also check if your motherboard supports TPM 2.0 and secure boot, as those are often the real blockers. Another option is to just stick with Windows 10, since it's supported until 2025.

This. I had the same problem with the RAM check. For me, the 8GB requirement was a hard stop—the upgrade just wouldn't proceed until I added more memory.

Same here. You could also try a clean install from a USB, as that sometimes bypasses stricter upgrade checks. Another option is to look into registry edits to modify the RAM check, but that can be risky and might not be stable.
