Ever since I upgraded my Dell laptop from Windows 10 to 11, it’s been frustratingly slow. Boot times are much longer, and simple tasks like opening File Explorer cause a noticeable lag. I don’t see any specific error codes, but the fans often spin up loudly during basic use. I’ve run the Windows Update troubleshooter, but it didn’t help. Has anyone else experienced this and found a reliable fix? My specs should be fine—it’s an i5 with 16GB RAM and an SSD.

I ran into this a while back. Yeah, a clean install of Windows 11 often fixes these upgrade gremlins. I'd also check Dell's support site for updated chipset and BIOS drivers for your specific model.

This happened to me on my older Inspiron. A clean install and updating the BIOS from Dell's site made a huge difference.

Also, check if Dell has specific Windows 11 drivers for your model, not just the BIOS.

Yeah, You could also try a clean install of Windows 11 instead of the upgrade, as that often resolves leftover performance issues. Good luck!

Yeah, I had the same problem after upgrading my Inspiron. A clean install made a huge difference for me, too.

This. Before you do a clean install, have you checked if all your drivers, especially the chipset and graphics ones, are updated for Windows 11 from Dell's support site?

Agreed. Also, have you checked Task Manager to see if something is using an unusual amount of CPU or memory right after startup?

Glad I'm not alone. Same issue on my PC.

+1 I had the same problem. A clean install of Windows 11, instead of the upgrade, finally fixed it for me.
