I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, but the PC Health Check app says my system doesn’t support Secure Boot. I’ve checked my BIOS (UEFI) and it’s enabled, but I still get the error. My motherboard is an older ASUS model. Has anyone else hit this wall? Do I need to enable something else, or is my hardware just too old? Any help is appreciated.

This happened to me on my older Gigabyte board. I had to change the BIOS from "Other OS" to "Windows UEFI" mode for Secure Boot to actually work right. Good luck!

Not 100% sure, but Sometimes Secure Boot needs to be set up with the right keys. In your BIOS, look for an option like "Load Default Keys" or "Restore Factory Keys" after enabling it. If that's not there, your older board might only have legacy support, which unfortunately means it won't work for Windows 11.

Also, try disabling CSM in your BIOS if it's on, as that can sometimes interfere.

Agreed. You could also check if your disk partition style is GPT and not MBR, as Windows 11 requires it. Another option is to see if there's a BIOS update for your older ASUS board that improves Secure Boot compatibility.

Same here. I had the same problem on my older ASUS board. I had to go into the BIOS and also enable something called "Platform Key (PK)" to get it working.

Can confirm. I had the same problem on my older Gigabyte board. I had to go into the BIOS and also enable something called "TPM" or "Trusted Platform Module" before Secure Boot would actually work right.

Yeah, that's the fix. One extra tip: after you enable TPM, you might need to change the Secure Boot mode from "Custom" to "Standard" in your ASUS BIOS.
