Can confirm. You could also try a clean install of Windows 11 instead of the upgrade, as that often resolves leftover performance issues. Another option is to check if your specific Dell model has updated drivers or BIOS available on their support site.

I ran into this a while back. Oh man, that sounds super frustrating, especially that 100% disk usage. A common fix for that after a big upgrade is to disable some startup programs and run a disk check. I'd be happy to walk you through a few steps if you want to try them. Hope that helps.

You could also try disabling startup programs in Task Manager to see if that speeds up your boot time. Another option is checking if your Dell has a pending BIOS update from their support site, as that can sometimes help.
Ever since I upgraded my Dell laptop from Windows 10 to 11, it’s been painfully ?

Ever since I upgraded my Dell laptop from Windows 10 to 11, it’s been painfully slow to boot up and programs take forever to open. I’ve also noticed the disk usage in Task Manager is constantly at 100% when nothing is running. I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter and got error code 0x80070002, but it didn’t fix the lag. Has anyone else had this and found a solution?

Have you checked if your Dell has any pending BIOS or driver updates since the upgrade?

Same here. Also, could you try temporarily disabling startup programs to see if that helps with the boot time? Good luck!

Yeah, That error code often points to missing update files, so maybe check your Windows Update cache is clear? Good luck!

You could also try disabling startup programs in Task Manager, since a clean boot can sometimes pinpoint what's hogging your disk.

Agreed. Also, have you checked if your Dell has any pending BIOS or driver updates specifically for Windows 11?
