Has anyone else had issues with the Windows 11 upgrade wiping out custom shortcuts? After upgrading, all my carefully arranged desktop shortcuts for work apps were just gone. I also keep getting a "Something didn't go as planned" error (code 0xC1900101) when I try to re-run the installer to do a repair. It's frustrating—I just want my setup back. Any tips would be appreciated.

Had the same problem. I had this issue after my upgrade too. From what I've seen, that error code often points to a driver conflict. I'd recommend checking for any pending driver updates, especially for your graphics card, before trying the installer again.

Same here. Agreed, driver issues are the usual suspect. Also, try temporarily disconnecting any non-essential peripherals before the upgrade, as they can sometimes cause that error.

Yeah, and it's a good idea to create a quick backup of your desktop folder before you run the upgrade, just in case.

+1 You could also try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter first, since that error code often points to a driver conflict.

Same here. Yeah, that's a good call. Also, check your antivirus software temporarily, as that can sometimes block the upgrade process.

Agreed. And if you haven't already, try running the Windows Update troubleshooter—it can sometimes clear that specific error.
