Has anyone else hit a wall with the Windows 11 upgrade check? My PC runs Windows?

Has anyone else hit a wall with the Windows 11 upgrade check? My PC runs Windows 10 perfectly, but the PC Health App says my CPU isn't supported. It's an Intel Core i7-7700K. I keep getting the "This PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements" error. I'm confused because it's a 64-bit, 4-core CPU. Is there a workaround, or am I really stuck buying new hardware just for Windows 11?

I ran into this a while back. I had this issue with my own 7700K. From what I have seen, it's purely about the generation—Microsoft requires 8th Gen Intel or newer for the security features. You're not alone; it's a hard stop for a lot of us with otherwise great PCs.

This happened to me too. It’s frustrating, but that generation just missed the cut for the required TPM and security features.

Agreed. Yeah, same chip here. A quick workaround is to check if Secure Boot is enabled in your BIOS, as that sometimes gets overlooked.

You could also try using the official Microsoft PC Health Check app's troubleshooting steps, as it sometimes flags issues you can actually fix. Hope that helps.

Can confirm. Yeah, that's a good call. Also double-check that TPM 2.0 is enabled, not just present.

Can confirm. I had the same problem with my 7700K. It's a hard stop, unfortunately—Microsoft's official list excludes 7th-gen Intel, even the i7.
